Malaysia's AirAsia X buys 3 more Airbus planes
Malaysia's long-haul budget carrier AirAsia X has inked a pact to buy three more Airbus A330 planes as part of its global expansion.
AirAsia X chief executive Azran Osman-Rani says the contract will bring the carrier's total order of the A330 wide-body planes to 28. The latest purchase is valued at 1.5 billion ringgit ($492 million).
He said Monday after the signing ceremony with Airbus that the three new planes will help expand AirAsia X's network in Asia and Europe. They are scheduled for delivery by 2014.
